I pick my chickens up to talk to them every day and when I let them out they have the shining things around there heads but there friendship level with me is nothing. So how do I improve my friendship leveL with my chickens?
I really don’t know, try to google it or search it up online, type Harvest moon tree of tranquility and there are usually alot of sites that have walkthroughs, tips, or cheats for the game.Wish I could help more, all I have is harvest moon for the nintendo 64(very old lol) Good luck.
During last night episodes these chickens showed up out of no where on an island. I’m sure the survivor crew put them there. It seems during every season survivor provides them with chickens and it makes me sad. The show is called survivor so let them truly get their own food.
I totally agree with you…that’s why the show is called Survivor…so let them catch some fish…every time they show this I flip to another station and when I think it is over I flip back.
Instead of the show being called Survivor it should be called the Savages.

Half of the coop is fully enclosed and has a door for the chickens to go out to the other half that is outside. How many chickens would be good in that type of coop? They will be egg laying chickens.
you could fit a heap in there… approx 20-30 maybe…
chickens are awesome!
I currently have a boxer and a dachshund. Depsite being raised around chickens, they are both aggressive towards them, so they can’t be out at the same time.
What is a shorthaired dog breed that if trained properly, will be friendly towards chickens?
I had a German sheperd but they require frequent grooming.
small herding dogs would be the best (not hunting dogs) as long as they where raised around chickens
Eggs are hard, how do roosters fertilise them? chickens sit on eggs even when theres nothing inside, how long will they do this before they realise nothings going to hatch? Do chickens have sex?
I know there fertilised before there layed. So there fertilised before the shell forms? Why do they sit on there eggs if nothings inside them? Without human interference how long would they do this before they realised nothing would hatch?
Chickens breed, so technically, they do have sex
The eggs develop in the hen, they aren’t just there. You can tell when she’s getting ready to lay when her bottom starts to sag.
Birds will sit on there eggs for a long time. I’ve seen geese sit on their eggs for 4 months at a time. Eventually the egg rots or explodes (they do explode, rotten, it STINKS.) Or untill you distroy the nest.
About 20 after she’s been sitting on them, you take the eggs into a dark area and shine a flashlight into them. You can see a dark spot and a smaller clear spot. Those are the fertilized ones.
I ordered 30 baby chickens by mail and they are supposed to arrive on tuesday….What stepps should i take to get them off to a good start?
Wow! hope you have lots of space for these cause in a few weeks they are going to need it. I used to raise chickens so I should be able to answer this. You need to create a draft free warm home for them with heat lamps and the proper feeders and waters, these are in the chicken catalog. You can also get them at feed stores where you can also find chick starter and get advice on how to raise them. They need a litter to walk on, I used to use wood chips completely covered under several layers of news paper, you should put some more paper down every couple of days. You must moniter the chicks carefully, if it is too drafty they will be hiding from windows, if it is cold they will "mosh" under the heat lamps and could trample each other, if it is too hot they will fight to get away from the lamps, you should keep food and water slightly away from the lamps so they don’t overheat. The people that sold yout the chickens can tell you how hot it needs to be, it’s somewhere in the 90 degree range for the first few days. Be sure to keep them in a safe inclosed area because they are definately easy prey at this stage, I can’t tell you how much trouble I had with snakes even though mine were in a barn. If you notice that one of the chicks seems sick you need to isolate it right away, chances are it will live but you don’t want it to spread its disease or get pecked to death by the others. Chickens are not kind. Good luck! Hope this works for you!
I am considering getting some chickens to raise. I have already found a spot where we could put a coop and fenced area for grazing, but I want to know what I’m getting into before it’s too late. I’m just starting my research on this, so the truth is, I don’t know a whole lot about chickens. Lots of answers would be very helpful. Thanks!
taking care of chickens is easy and not that time consuming on a small scale. i would assume you probably want about ten chickens. if you just want eggs you dont need a rooster the only thing the rooster does is fertilizes the eggs. hens will lay without a rooster but the eggs are only good for eating they want hatch. you need to feed the hens laying mash you can get this at tractor supply but if there is a livestock feed store near you feed is mostlikely cheaper there. you will need to get a five gallon feeder because with this your chickens will have a constant feed supply and a five gallon waterer for the same reason there are also types of automatic waterer buying the equipment and the feed is the most expensive part of it.
We have 4 chickens [not sure which kind] but they all have never layed an egg yet until yesterday one of them layed a small white egg. How can we tell which one did it? Is there a way to check?
You wont be able to know from the egg, but you can observe them tomorrow and see if any of them are nesting. Just check on them from time to time, and one will lay an egg eventually. Our chickens are mid-morning layers, so that would be a good time to watch.
I have been looking for a website to order a few baby chickens from but all I have found are sites that have a minimum requirement of 15-25 chicks that i do not have room for. Can someone provide a website that sells chicks without the requirement?
There are some hatcheries that will ship small orders but the fee is more than the price of the chickens. I don’t remember which hatcheries will do this. If a local feed or farm store is ordering chickens you can buy as many or as few as you want. Another option is to find a friend who wants a few chickens and combine your order. Around here the Tractor Supply Company gets chicks every Thursday and you can buy as many as you want from their stock. They usually sell out on Friday. Another option is to order 15 chicks. Keep a few and sell the rest. You can start advertising them before you get them. Just tell interested buyers they will be available when they arrive.
I buy rotisserie chickens and she loves it! So I want to stick to that.
I assume the chicken itself is pretty fine (just a protein source), but the salt and other things they put on it are probably not good for her. Also be careful about feeding cooked bones.
You could look into a raw diet if you are serious about wanting to give her copious amounts of chicken everyday.
