There are chickens and rabbits. 28 all together. And all together there are 76 feet. How many chickens are there and how many rabbits are there?

& how would I solve this? We can’t seem to figure it out.

x+y=28, chix+rabbits=28
2x+4y=76 chix feet+ rabbit feet=76

y=28-x
2x+4(28-x)=76

2x+112-4x=76

112-2x=76

112-76=2x

36=2x

x=18

and you know that y=28-x => y=28-18 => y=10
So 18 chix and 10 rabbits
