We live in Albuquerque and are thinking of moving out of town. We’d love to have chickens and a goat or two and are looking at properties that have at least a few acres, but I can’t figure out what zoning allows this. Anyone know?

Agricultural. I live in Tijeras. They allow chickens here and in Edgewood. Call 281-4518 and ask for either Vivki or Mike in Animal Control and they can help you out. I believe Corrales allows it too.

You’re allowed to have chickens and goats anywhere as long as they do not disturb neighbors. I lived in a neighborhood and had a small yard with a pet goat. If you have a few acres then I’m sure you wont have any trouble with zoning.
