I got this huge bin from Long’s (now they’re renaming that store somethng else). Doesn’t have to be clear. Crickets actually prefer dark. I just melted some ventilation holes around and on top. They haven’t succeeded in climbing it, but if they do, I can just put some packing tape around the inside so they can’t get any grip. I feed crushed up dog food and dry monkey chow (also called primate biscuits. Often sold at food and grain stores and some pet stores).

    in otherwords, when …
in otherwords, when you dump out some crickets into your reptile cage / fish tank, babies and adults will be eaten. this really isn’t a problem. but some people would rather keep babies for the next generation. (though it probably won’t matter since you have thousands).

also some pets dont see the babies so you could be wasting them.

but its a hassle trying to sort crickets out one by one.

  • HeavenzBreaker says:

    that isn’t true. a …
that isn’t true. a cricket will only be cannibalized if it is already dead or dying from sickness or if they are too crowded/ not enough food..

most people only find their crickets eating another one after its already half eaten and assume things about it.

i keep all my crickets of every size in the same container and if you use sufficient surface area and space, they don’t eat eachother.

the reason people tell you to seperate them is only so that you dont feed babies and adults to your pets.
