  • Wolffheartt says:

    respiratory …
respiratory infections are sometimes caused by using pine bedding so its safer to use other materials. (so I’ve read in a lot of places) but tumors idk about take it to the vet? lol

  • Animationiable says:

    Its different with …
    Its different with rats, you may be thinking of rabbits i believe but there is plenty of information on the Fancy Rats informations. If that information where true then there would be alot of eaten ratties (;

  • MegaSeptim says:

  • Dan080808 says:

    I don’t know if …
I don’t know if Laura Fitzgerald reads anything here but when a rat dies I read that…

“The biggest complaint from rat owner’s is that their pets just don’t live long enough and worse still they often pass away from nasty illnesses such as tumors or respiratory infections.”

So you just let the little guy suffer at the end? There’s nothing to can do make it suffer less? It may sound silly but I would like to see her do a feature on how to make the rat suffer less at the end.

lol she has no i dear my rex rat hade 16 babys

  • MrsE1vis says:

    This woman is NOT …
This woman is NOT an “animal care specialist”. These videos should be taken off – the information she is dishing out is just plain wrong!
    Those poor animals!

  • ratontheleft says:

    She says, “This is …
She says, “This is Tar. Tar is about eighteen months old. He was my first rat.”

She also refers to females as “momma” or “mommy” and males as “daddy,” which no real breeder would do (or normal adult).

    This is a BACKYARD BREEDER.

So the problem is that what “works for her” doesn’t work for animals.

In the video on rat health she flaunts her ignorance of the most common rat diseases.

  • 0FauxPa0 says:

    Do you think this …
Do you think this is her first time breeding? REALLY ?

IF you thought about it at all you would realize she has bred rats before…these are her tips on how she breeds and raises them. If it works for her then whats wrong with it?

    Ignorance…

  • ratontheleft says:

    Here “Daddy” rat …
Here “Daddy” rat was her “first rat”? And people should buy tailless rats?

This woman needs to be shut down. Shame on Expert Village for letting this backyard breeder post videos essentially modeling how to become a backyard breeder.

It takes far longer than 18 months to learn about rat genetics and other breeding issues. Tailless rats suffer a deformity that can be very detrimental to them and true ratters do not advocate breeding them.

  • ILOVEPETRATS says:

    i agree with you …
i agree with you all the way!

  • angbot5000 says:

that two week old rat is adorable. :)

  • Ingiequeen says:

    LOL animal …
LOL animal specialist my ass, apart from the fact that they need food and water, thats all she knows, there are so many things incorrect in this video, any experienced rat person/breeder will tell you that.
If you are still not convinced i can write all of the things down for you and get many experienced breeders to agree with me. Why the harshness?

  • raggamuffer says:

    nothing in her …
nothing in her videos suggest that she has no idea how to care for them….if she had no idea would she be an animal care specialist? i dont think so you tard
